POSITION OVERVIEW:

To support operational growth FB Titan is looking for a Project Manager in Salt Lake City, to start, and then to work on the various sites throughout the U.S… Working under the direction of Operations Management, the Project Manager will build a delivery team from within FB Titan operations staff, leading the team through the successful delivery of the project. In addition to meeting team, company, and client objectives while conforming to all technical specifications and requirements.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safety Ownership on the project
  • Responsible for team focus on Safety, Quality and Productivity
  • Accountable to maintain the budget for the project, reporting any variances to Operations
  • Read, review and understand the project requirements, scope of work and complete transmission line work contract package
  • Plan, direct, supervise, and control the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project
  • Oversee the overall execution of the project and work with technical and support managers to make adjustments to schedule, personnel and equipment to ensure project is completed on time and on budget
  • Works with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project
  • Proactively manage and review the project management team and ensure they are meeting the goals and requirements of the contract and Purchaser
  • Review and clarify Purchaser’s technical requirements with Construction Managers and Quality Managers
  • Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes
  • Communicate project performance to Senior Management
  • Develop relations and maintain client communication channels and liaise with Purchaser’s Management group to address any issues related to project schedule and budget
  • Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the project planning, execution and overall lifecycle
  • Negotiates with the client and key subcontractors
  • Collaborates with Business Development and Operations Teams to market and secure additional work with various clients
  • Responsible for following up on instructions and commitments associated with the project
  • Responsible for the development and distribution of a one to two page description of the project to all members of the project team for reference
  • Assigns responsibility for executing project plans to key subordinates after careful assessment of how to utilize their qualifications and strengths
  • Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates
  • Field responsibilities may include labor relations, local procurement and payroll operations, etc., if required
  • Mobilizes company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work
  • Discusses the qualifications required of the key project positions in specific detail with the profit center and department managers
  • Collaborates with the office facilities staff to address project space requirements
  • Ensures that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans
  • Works with the key project individual to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work
  • Advises the client and company management of any such changes
  • The Project Manager is specifically responsible for maintaining current and timely change orders
  • Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule
  • Establishes weekly meeting to review project status and formulate action items
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ten (10) plus years in a project management leadership role
  • Demonstrable and verifiable experience leading multi-million dollar Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Masters of Business Administration (MBA), University Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field, P.Eng (or eligible) and/or suitable relevant Education and direct project leadership experience
  • Preference will be given to those candidates with experience in large linear construction projects, ex High Voltage Transmission lines and/or Pipelines
  • Proficient with Microsoft and Primavera software
  • Proficient with computers

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Frequent travel to site
